Satwa Park Dubai: Location, Timings, Facilities & Visitor Guide

Satwa Park Dubai timings and facilities guide

Satwa Park is a free community green space in Dubai’s Al Satwa area, close to 308th Road and Sheikh Zayed Road. It is designed more for everyday exercise, children’s play and casual sports than for a full-day tourist visit.

The park has a basketball court, running track, children’s play area, shaded seating and walking space. Current park directories also list tennis, football and volleyball facilities. The main point to check before visiting is timing: normal visitor hours and early jogging-track access are not necessarily the same.

Quick Answer

Satwa Park is free to enter and forms part of Dubai Municipality’s public-park network. For a normal leisure visit, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM is the safest general planning window based on current listings. Dubai Municipality also introduced 5:00 AM access to jogging tracks inside 20 residential parks, including this one, so early runners can have access before normal daytime park use begins.

The park is best for walking, jogging, basketball, children’s play and short family visits. Financial Centre Metro Station is the main nearby Red Line option for the Gate 1 side.

Where Is Satwa Park Dubai?

The park is in the Al Satwa neighbourhood, behind Al Moosa Towers on the Sheikh Zayed Road side. Emirates News Agency used the Al Moosa Towers landmark when Dubai Municipality opened the original park in 2006, while current visitor listings place the facility around 308th Street or 308th Road.

You may also see the name “Al Satwa Park 3” on current maps and visitor guides. That name is commonly used for the community facility with the basketball court, running track and children’s area. It should not be confused with Al Badaa Park, Al Khazzan Park or other nearby green spaces, which are separate places.

The original municipal park opened in 2006. WAM reported that it covered 2.54 hectares at the time, but the site was later redeveloped, so that historical figure should not be treated as a precise current measurement of today’s layout.

What Are the Current Park Timings?

Opening times need some explanation because current sources show more than one figure.

Current park directories such as Trfihi and Kidzapp list 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. That is the safest general window to use when planning a family visit, children’s play session or casual outing.

Dubai Municipality introduced an important change in November 2025. Jogging tracks inside 20 residential parks were opened from 5:00 AM, and Al Satwa was included in that list. This early access was introduced specifically to support morning exercise.

That does not automatically mean every playground, sports court or park service becomes available from 5:00 AM. A practical approach is:

  • use 8:00 AM–11:00 PM for a normal leisure visit;
  • early runners can use the newer 5:00 AM jogging access;
  • verify same-day access if arriving very early or near closing;
  • check for temporary Ramadan, Eid or official-holiday changes.

Dubai Municipality has used different operating schedules during public holidays, including later closing times for residential parks and squares.

Is Entry Free?

Yes. Entry is free.

Dubai Municipality’s original information stated that there was no admission charge, and current 2026 visitor information continues to describe the park as free to enter.

That makes it useful for residents and visitors looking for an outdoor break without paying an entrance fee. It can also fit naturally into a budget travel in Al Satwa plan.

There is no need to buy a general park ticket just to walk, sit or use the normal public areas.

Facilities and Things to Do

The park was built as an active neighbourhood recreation space rather than simply a landscaped lawn.

Dubai Municipality’s original facility included children’s playgrounds, green areas, shaded seating, walking paths, football, basketball, volleyball and tennis facilities, plus a rubberised jogging track. Current park directories continue to list the same broad mix of sports and family facilities.

Useful activities include:

  • basketball and casual court games;
  • jogging and walking;
  • children’s outdoor play;
  • tennis, football and volleyball where facilities are available;
  • sitting in shaded areas;
  • light exercise;
  • short family outings and meet-ups.

The basketball facility has received more recent municipal attention. Dubai Municipality confirmed beautification work on two basketball courts in the Satwa area in 2023 as part of a wider playground improvement programme.

This is still a compact community park. It does not offer the scale, ticketed attractions or extensive sightseeing facilities found at larger Dubai destinations such as Zabeel Park or Mushrif Park.

Do You Need to Book the Basketball or Tennis Court?

Booking is worth checking if you want guaranteed playing time.

Dubai Municipality currently offers a Book Sports Fields service for sports facilities in public parks. Earlier guidance for the Dubai Public Parks reservation system specifically included Al Satwa among the parks where football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and other facilities could be reserved.

The published reservation process allows users to choose a park, court type, date and available time slot. The 2024 system offered one-hour reservations and generated a digital booking confirmation.

At the same time, a current 2026 visitor guide describes the basketball court as open-access and first-come, first-served.

These two points can reasonably coexist: casual play may be possible when the court is free, while a reservation gives a group a confirmed slot. If you are travelling specifically for a match, check Dubai Municipality’s current sports-field booking service first.

For spontaneous play, bring your own ball and be prepared to wait if another group is using the court.

Is the Park Good for Families and Children?

Yes. Families are one of the main user groups.

The facility includes a children’s play area, outdoor green space, walking areas and seating. Kidzapp currently lists it for children aged 0–16 and highlights the playground alongside its sports facilities.

The compact layout is useful for families because the playground, sports and seating areas do not require a long walk between them.

It is not a theme park and does not have major rides or paid attractions. The appeal is much simpler: children can play outdoors while adults walk, exercise or sit nearby.

In warmer months, late afternoon and evening are generally more comfortable than the middle of the day. Sports areas may also become busier during those cooler periods.

How to Reach the Park by Metro and Bus

Financial Centre Metro Station on the Red Line is the strongest current Metro reference for Gate 1. Updated transport data places it about 633 metres away, or roughly an 8-minute walk, from the Gate 1 transit pin.

The nearest Metro station to Satwa can vary according to the exact destination within the wider neighbourhood, but Financial Centre is the most practical current option for this park listing.

The closest bus stops currently include:

  • Wasl, Mosque 2 — about a 3-minute walk;
  • Rostamani Tower — about a 4-minute walk.

Current nearby services include 21, 21B, 98E, F11 and F28, depending on which stop and direction you use.

Do not assume every bus displayed “near the park” stops beside the same entrance. Check the exact boarding stop and direction in RTA or S’hail before travelling.

Parking and Driving

Driving is possible, but parking around the park should be treated as normal Al Satwa street parking rather than assumed to be a dedicated free car park.

Parking conditions can vary between streets and by time of day. Some surrounding spaces may fall under Dubai’s paid-parking system.

If you drive, check the sign beside the actual parking bay or current parking information before leaving your vehicle. This is more reliable than using a generic “Satwa parking code” found online because those searches often refer to the wider neighbourhood rather than the park itself.

Food and Places Nearby

The surrounding Al Satwa streets have many inexpensive cafés, cafeterias, groceries and casual restaurants, so visitors have food options outside the park.

Satwa Falcon Cafeteria is one nearby local option on the 308th Road side of the neighbourhood and can fit naturally before or after a park visit.

For visitors who want more than a short park stop, the guide to places to visit in Al Satwa covers other local landmarks and activities that can be combined into the same outing.

The park itself should not be treated as a major food destination, so planning to eat in the surrounding neighbourhood gives you more choice.

Best Time to Visit

The most comfortable time depends on the season and what you plan to do.

From roughly November to March, mornings and late afternoons generally suit walking, children’s play and outdoor sport. During the hotter part of the year, early morning or evening is more practical than midday.

Satwa Park can be busier around the basketball court during cooler evening hours. Early morning is usually a better choice for someone mainly interested in jogging or a quieter walk.

If you need a sports court at a specific time, check reservation availability instead of travelling on the assumption that it will be empty.

Bring drinking water, wear suitable footwear for jogging or sport, and confirm current access if you intend to arrive at 5:00 AM or close to the published closing time.

Conclusion

Satwa Park is a practical free green space for exercise, children’s play, casual sport and short outdoor breaks in Al Satwa. Its main attractions are the sports facilities, jogging track, playground, shaded seating and useful Metro and bus access.

For a normal leisure visit, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM is the safer planning window, while runners can benefit from the newer 5:00 AM jogging-track access. If basketball, tennis or another court sport is the main reason for your visit, check current booking availability before travelling.
